Extreme heat is the number one cause of SPC flooring failure — and almost all of it is preventable.
Heat expands the PVC binder in the core. If that movement has nowhere to escape, you get peaking, buckling, and separated click-lock joints. It rarely shows up on install day; it shows up two weeks later.
Three things that matter most: acclimate the planks for a full 48–72 hours in the actual room, keep the AC running before and after the job (not just during), and never shortcut the expansion gap. 8–10 mm looks like a lot until the floor needs it.
Sunrooms, enclosed balconies, and unconditioned garages are outside almost every manufacturer’s warranty. Check the manual before you quote the job.
