March 10th update! The garden is growing!!

Peas, cucumbers, & monarch butterfly caterpillars 😁

The okra & cantaloupe have also begun to grow and are a few inches tall.

Cucumbers won this years race of “first to sprout”! 😃 At this rate we’ll have quite a few strong cucumber plants. I’m pretty sure they’re over achievers!

Spring is on the way in Our Backyard Garden & the pollinators are blooming!
Over the past week we have prepped the garden & planted our spring veggies. This year we’ll have:
3 types of Cucumbers (of course pickling cucumbers is on the list!) 🥒
Brussels Sprouts (those have been in the ground for a while & should be producing soon) 🌱
Sweet Corn 🌽
Green Onions
Carrots 🥕
Beefsteak Tomatoes 🍅
Green Beans
Sweet Peas
Dill (for the pickles of course)

Plus our year round plants:
Blueberries
Blackberries (hopefully I can get them to produce)
Raspberries (ditto on the producing)
Rosemary (seriously is anyone wants some, come on over!)
Oregano
Oranges
Lemons
Limes

Today I ventured away from pickles & jams. Since it’s Fall, I tried out a new recipe & made sweet cider apple butter! It’s so yummy!! Small batches are a must & I was able to make 9 jars in this batch. 🍏🫙

Over the summer season, we grew about 2 quarts of anaheim chili peppers 🌶 in our hydroponic garden for our spicy pickles. 🌶
