Here's a quick test you can do this weekend. Grab a dime and walk around your house.
If a dime fits through a gap, a mouse can squeeze through it too. And with the first frost on its way to the Roanoke Valley, they're out looking for one.
Check these spots first:
• Under the garage door, especially the corners
• Where pipes, cables and AC lines enter the house
• Foundation vents and cracks in the block
• Gaps along the roofline and soffits
Steel wool and caulk work for small gaps. Bigger openings and anything up high are better left to us. We find the entry points and seal them, so the problem doesn't come back next fall.
