Brett’s track tune-up is simple: spray the inside wall of the track so the rollers can spread it like they own the place. Start at the bottom roller and work your way up with a steady spray. Stop about a foot to a foot and a half before the radius, because the rollers will carry it the rest of the way.

Then give your end bearing a little love by spraying where the torsion tube sticks out of the plate, just a small dot is plenty. Skip the drum and skip the cable, those two do not want to be part of your lubrication hobby. Your door will run smoother, and your spray can will stop doing cardio.

Brett’s hinge pep talk: they might look different, but they’re set up the same way where the panels meet with top and bottom metal. When those metal-on-metal parts roll around the radius, that’s when the door starts narrating your whole morning.

Grab a spray l**e and go light on both sides of the hinges, because a little goes a long way. Then hit the stems too, that bar running through the hinge, with a quick spray on both sides all the way up and down.

Brett’s quick maintenance tip is simple: proper lubrication keeps your garage door and opener running smoother as a full system. Grab a garage door specific spray from Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Ace, and save the WD-40 for indoor jobs where dust is not trying to join the party.

Skip anything paste-like, because it gets messy fast. Just spray the front of the springs you can see, no ladder needed, because as the door moves the coils rotate and carry the lubricant through. That little spritz helps ease tension and friction and can help the springs last longer.

Today we rolled up to Jama Rand’s house to surprise our garage door giveaway winner. Aaron was on site, and Cutter handled the install like it was just another Tuesday with a toolbox. The original door took a ride on the truck while the new insulated door got the spotlight.

Insulated doors are the kind of upgrade you do not notice until you do, and then you wonder why you waited. We love turning an old door into a truck-bed souvenir and leaving behind a smooth, solid setup. Congrats again to Jama, and thanks for letting us make garage doors a little more fun.

Aaron is showing off our functioning door at the main location in Roanoke, and yes, it has two different openers installed. It is basically a choose-your-own-adventure for training, except the plot twist is always “let’s make the door run smooth.”

We will even make the door crooked or, in the past, put incorrect springs on it just to see if our team can figure out what makes it right. If your garage door starts looking crooked or the opener feels off, do not just “live with it” and hope it figures itself out.

Jason is on site for the last remaining door of Mr. Lou’s project, and yes, we had to stop and admire the view. Four beautiful glass garage doors, and they are the kind of gorgeous that makes a garage feel like a showroom.

The real flex is the insulated glass, because when you shut it down, you cannot even hear it outside. We love working in Plano, and the crew in those Serve First shirts made this one look easy.
