The Problem: Water entering the building, concrete block coming loose, birds nesting in block wall, unsafe door opening....

The Problem: Water entering the building, concrete block coming loose, birds nesting in block wall, unsafe door opening. High bay door 12' wide, sagging, loosening block.

The Repair: removed rotted wood, loose blocks, old lintel.
Built a new support beam using 2x10 syp, sandwiched with 1/2" cdx plywood. Used polyurethane glue and deck screws.
Very strong! Built a short studded 2x6 wall to support the interior ceiling on top of the support beam. Insulated and sheathed on both sides. Any remaining gaps were filled and heavy gauge metal siding was run horizontally, tucked up under existing metal gable siding.
6 days total for demolition and construction.

The client is very pleased with the results.

Two white oak trees came down and took two large poplar trees along with them. One is hung up in a crook of another tree.
I treat it as a puzzle. You take one piece at a time, then see where that leaves you. Before you know it, it's all felled and cut into firewood length logs and loaded on the trailer for transport.
