Another one for the maintenance files.

We gave the Hidden Valley Forest entrance sign a much-needed fresh coat of paint. Nothing drastic, but it made a big difference.

A little wallpaper PSA from someone who actually installs the stuff:

Peel-and-stick does not mean easier.

We finished this bathroom recently, and while it turned out great, this peel-and-stick paper made the installation about ten times harder than it needed to be.

Traditional wallpaper gives us time to position the paper, slide it into place, work seams and corners, and make adjustments as we go. Peel-and-stick wants to grab immediately, and in a room with this many corners, fixtures and obstacles, that makes a huge difference.

If you're considering wallpaper, don't assume peel-and-stick is the easier or cheaper option just because there's no paste involved. For a professional installation, give me good old-fashioned wallpaper and paste every time.

The finished product came out great. We just had to fight it the whole way there.

Some weeks, drywall repairs pay the bills. Here's another one for the maintenance series.

We do a ton of drywall repair along with our painting work. This one started small, but once we opened things up, there was quite a bit more damaged material that needed to come out.

No pretty pictures, just another one getting fixed the right way.

A lot of prep, repairs, and detail work went into bringing this beautiful Smith Mountain Lake home back to life.

We completed exterior repairs and refreshed the siding and trim, working section by section to give the home a clean, consistent finish while protecting the character of the property.
