Can you imagine paying two to three times more for leaf removal? And not because you want to—but because you have no real choice. It’s still cheaper than dealing with a brush fire that spreads to your home, a furnace breakdown caused by leaf buildup, or having to replace fresh sod you just put down last year.
If a bill is passed requiring battery-powered leaf blowers, costs will skyrocket. Each blower needs two to three batteries, plus an inverter in the truck just to keep them charged. Even then, battery blowers don’t have the same power as gas blowers, meaning each job will take two to three times longer.
I’ve spent about $700 on each gas blower I own—and I have four of them. Can you imagine what comparable battery-powered equipment would cost?
