A fresh new space for the team behind the scenes at RIT. 🐅

Nichols Construction Team partnered with Rochester Institute of Technology to complete a full renovation of the Human Resources Department on the 5th floor of George Eastman Hall—transforming approximately 3,500 square feet into a more functional, modern workplace.

This project included a complete interior refresh, featuring an updated reception and lobby area, a new single-user restroom, renovated private offices, and a reimagined open office layout designed to better support collaboration and daily operations.

RIT is a nationally recognized leader in innovation and career-focused education, and we’re proud to support their mission by creating spaces that enhance the experience for faculty and staff alike.

This renovation reimagines a highly active campus space into a modern, student-focused environment—bringing together key services into a more efficient, accessible layout. From new offices and conference areas to a centralized walk-up service hub, every detail was designed to better serve students, faculty, and staff.

We were proud to stand alongside our Strategic Partners and fellow industry leaders at Construction Career Day on May 19th, hosted by the Builders Exchange of Rochester at Monroe Community College, helping introduce students to the many rewarding opportunities available within the construction industry.

Jason Downs and Nick Holzapple represented Nichols Construction Team as they connected with students interested in careers in the trades and construction industry. Events like this provide a valuable opportunity to share what makes our industry so meaningful - from hands-on craftsmanship and problem-solving to building projects that strengthen and shape our communities for years to come.

A big thank you to the Builders Exchange of Rochester for organizing a fantastic event, and to MCC for hosting and bringing together students and industry professionals for a day focused on learning, connection, and career exploration. We enjoyed meeting so many motivated students and having conversations about the future of construction here in Rochester.

The next generation of builders, project managers, estimators, and skilled tradespeople has an exciting future ahead, and we can’t wait to watch them grow, lead, and help build what’s next for our industry and our community.

Nichols Construction Team was proud to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated and expanded Muller Field Station at Finger Lakes Community College — a transformative project supporting environmental education, research, and immersive outdoor learning in the Finger Lakes region.

Located on 48 acres at the south end of Honeoye Lake, Muller Field Station serves as a living laboratory for students, educators, researchers, and community partners. This nearly $4 million expansion enhances accessibility, increases capacity, and creates new opportunities for hands-on learning experiences for generations to come.

Project highlights include:
• A new 24-person, handicap-accessible bunkhouse
• A bus turnaround loop for safer, more efficient transportation
• Expanded parking to support increased community access and participation

Nichols Construction Team was honored to serve as General Contractor alongside Plan Architectural Studio and LeChase Construction as General Manager. Special recognition to Associates Todd McMillan, Project Manager, and Ray Hillabush, Superintendent, for their leadership throughout the project.
