⚡ TIP TUESDAY: Is your home wired with aluminum?
Did you know many homes built between the mid-1960s and early 1970s were wired with aluminum instead of copper? It seemed like a great idea at the time : but aluminum expands and contracts with heat in a way that can loosen connections over time. That looseness creates resistance, which leads to overheating and an increased fire risk.
How can you tell? Check for the letters "AL" stamped on the wiring insulation, or look for connections marked "AL-CU." If you're unsure, a licensed electrician can take a closer look.
🔍 The smart move: If your home dates back to this era, it's worth having your wiring evaluated professionally.
