Why Are You Still Seeing Boxelder Bugs and Stink Bugs After Treatment?

Just because your home has been treated doesn’t mean these unwanted invaders will stop showing up!

On warmer fall days, boxelder bugs, stink bugs, and other overwintering pests become active and are naturally drawn to the warmth of your home. Even after a professional treatment, they may continue to land on your siding and look for ways inside.

Here’s the good news! Our treatments create a protective barrier designed to eliminate these pests when they come into contact with treated surfaces. While you may still see activity, the goal is to kill these invaders before they can settle in and overwinter in your home.

Remember, seeing bugs doesn’t necessarily mean your treatment isn’t working! These pests will keep coming as long as the weather attracts them, but a properly applied treatment helps stop them in their tracks.

Why Rodent Exclusion Is Essential

At Scotts Pest Solutions, we understand that trapping and baiting only address the rodents already inside your home or business. Proper exclusion is what helps prevent new rodents from getting in.

Rodents can enter through surprisingly small openings. Mice can squeeze through gaps about the size of a dime, while rats can fit through openings roughly the size of a quarter. Common entry points include gaps around foundations, roofs, pipes, vents, doors, and other areas of the structure.

By identifying and sealing these openings with durable, rodent-resistant materials, we help protect your property from future infestations, damage, and contamination.

Trapping removes rodents. Exclusion helps keep them out.

It's that time of the year for Hoverflies. Harmless yet aggravating. (Usually incorrectly identified as "sweat bees"). They are not bees.... they neither sting nor bite. They are actually quite beneficial. They are pollinators, and their larvae consume plant destroying aphids, thrips (and other destructors).

I successfully completed a bed bug job for a client's tenant by replacing the queen size mattress, box spring, and bed frame. I appreciate the assistance and responses from everyone involved. Although I purchased the mattress, the box spring and frame were kindly donated. It's heartening to witness community members coming together to support those in need.
