Thein Well Rochester, Inc.

Thein Well Rochester, Inc. One of the Nation's foremost and well respected water well contractors Eugene parlayed his blacksmith skills to become the area's resident well driller. Peter J.

Eugene Thein, the son of a Luxembourg immigrant blacksmith, left New Trier, MN at the age of 19, shortly after his father's death, and moved to Clara City, MN. He started with constructing shallow, dug wells by horse power in 1893. Thein, Eugene's oldest son, worked with his father from an early age and took over the business in the early 1900's. He expanded the business and brought five of his so

ns in with him. Leonard Thein was active in the business until his death in 1968. Joseph was killed in a drilling accident in 1947 at the age of 25. Stanley, Dennis and Peter Thein, the three remaining sons, purchased the business from their dad in 1965. They have since expanded the business greatly in terms of location and equipment. Considered pioneers in the industry, Stanley, Dennis and Peter were the first in their areas to add rotary well drilling to their stable of services (as compared to the standard cable tool drilling). They grew their business to include locations in Rochester, Spicer and Monticello - in addition to the original Clara City location. Today, Bob and Mike Thein (Stanley's sons) operate the Spicer, Clara City and Monticello operations. Their brother, David Thein, was also an integral partner in the business until his untimely death in 2004 in a traffic accident at the age of 35. You can read more about David at www.WellDrilling.com/David_Thein.htm. The website for the Spicer/Monticello/Clara-City locations can be found at www.TheinWell.com. Mark and Craig Thein now operate Thein Well Rochester, Inc. Dennis Thein also helps out on a part-time basis and is always available for consultation. Thein Well Co. has always been active in industry associations. By keeping up with the latest in techniques, equipment and environmental impacts, Thein Well Co. has kept "ahead of the curve" in constructing wells in the most efficient manner possible. Thanks to a great many loyal and highly qualified long term employees, Thein Well Co. continues to set the standard in the water well industry.

Today, someone left us a 1-star review because we tracked dirt from his site onto his gravel driveway (as though we could have chose to hover above his driveway so as to not drop his dirt on it). It's so frustrating running a business and working hard to provide excellent service and then see an unhappy person (he leaves tons of 1-star reviews) try to damage your business this way. Life Hint - don't be like this guy.

Nice to be able to show off some new equipment. We had Big Sky Flat Tanks in Montana build us a very nice custom water truck on top of a brand new Peterbilt (painted candy apple red to match the 40K drill rig we bought last year). The guys have been working hard and doing great work, so it’s nice to see them be able to run some newer equipment. I put a video tour in the comments.

So nice to have kind and appreciative customers!

10” potable well that will provide 500 GPM to fight a fire and also be able to supply a constant 60 psi of pressure for domestic water use. Being comfortable with technology makes this possible.
