As another internship season comes to a close, I want to recognize three outstanding interns who spent the summer with us at AMETEK Power Instruments.
What makes a great internship? Meaningful work, real-world challenges, strong mentorship and opportunities to grow. Based on their feedback, our interns experienced all of that and more.
🔹 Austin (Rochester Institute of Technology) gained hands-on engineering experience through soldering, board troubleshooting, and developing a selective soldering program that became one of his proudest accomplishments. He shared that AMETEK helped him "apply what I've learned to real-world problems while gaining experience in my field of study."
🔹 Griffin (Rochester Institute of Technology) contributed software engineering solutions that improved manufacturing processes, including a component-number search capability and digital assembly print integration. He described the experience as "meaningful work" that helped him grow as a software engineer.
🔹 William (Purdue University) tackled cutting-edge AI automation projects, developing workflows that automate RFQ creation and generate pricing documents while considering discounts, regions and exceptions. William's work demonstrates how AI can help drive productivity and efficiency across our business.
Across all three interns, several common themes emerged:

âś… Valuable opportunities to collaborate, solve problems and develop new skills.
âś… Every intern said they would recommend an AMETEK internship and would consider returning for future opportunities.
Most importantly, they leave with experience that extends far beyond the classroom and with contributions that will continue to benefit our business.
A big thank you to Austin, Griffin and William for your hard work, curiosity and energy this summer. Thank you as well to the mentors and leaders who invested their time in helping these talented future engineers and innovators succeed.
