One of our customers asked the right approach to handle heavy ice build up so here it is! : The right approach would be to salt today aggressively, (avoiding and concrete surfaces) calcium chloride would be appropriate for concrete to prevent damage. And with the sun out the reaction time will be increased and activate/burn down fairly quick creating a slushy mess. After you reach that point… have the General come over lol and give it a good scrape with the plow and may need one more application of salt to break up the remaining ice build up. At that point it should be ok but there’s potential to refreeze tonight when temps drop below 25deg again. So to avoid that it would need one last plow trip or shovel to get down to black top. Tomorrow afternoon it will be 40 so any remaining areas should melt down fairly well!!! Thanks for asking I should post this service announcement! 📣

❄️ Season Contract Customers: our trucks will begin their routes for a second time this storm to clean up driveways shortly. We try to wait until the street plows have came through to ensure your driveway gets as clear as possible during the cleanup route!
