🏡 Behind the Build Episode 2: The

When these homeowners came to us, they had a long wish list. More light. Better flow. More gathering space. Better storage.

But beneath all of those requests was one simple question:

How can we make this home work better for our family?

The existing layout wasn’t making the most of the home’s potential. Key spaces felt disconnected, and the areas where the family spent the most time weren’t supporting the way they lived day to day.
Instead of simply updating finishes, we started by rethinking the floor plan itself.

By relocating and redefining major living spaces, we were able to create a home that feels larger, brighter, and far more functional, without adding on.

Because sometimes the best transformations don’t come from adding square footage. They come from seeing the space differently. ✨🏡

It’s ✨ , ✨ and this kitchen was holding the home back!

Small windows, dated finishes, and a closed-in layout left the space feeling darker and more cramped than it needed to be. But with the right plan, we saw the opportunity to create something completely different.

By maximizing natural light, improving storage, and designing around the way the homeowners actually use the space, we transformed this kitchen into a bright, functional hub for everyday life. Warm wood tones, clean lines, and hardworking appliances create a space that feels both elevated and inviting.

Today, the view takes center stage. The kitchen feels connected to the outdoors, flooded with natural light, and designed for everything from busy weekday mornings to slow weekends at home.

The biggest transformation wasn’t the cabinetry, countertops, or appliances. It was the feeling of the space. What was once a space people moved through is now a space they want to spend time in, and that’s what great design is all about. ✨🏡

✨ It’s ! ✨
This lower-level bathroom went from overlooked and purely functional to a space that feels elevated, intentional, and incredibly inviting. 🛁 What was once disconnected from the style of the rest of the home now feels warm, cohesive, and designed with everyday comfort in mind.

Rich finishes, a walnut vanity, soft brass accents, and layered lighting completely transformed the atmosphere of this room, creating depth, warmth, and a much more polished feel. Thoughtful storage solutions and durable materials make the space easier to live in day after day.

One of the biggest upgrades was the shower. The built-in bench adds comfort and flexibility, while the glass enclosure keeps the room feeling bright and open. Heated floors bring an extra layer of luxury that makes a lower-level bathroom feel cozy year-round.

We love projects like this because they prove great design isn’t just about making a space look beautiful, it’s about making daily life feel better. ✨🏡

Proof that accessible design can still feel beautiful. 🏡

This lower level transformation included a thoughtfully designed accessible bathroom and the dreamiest Cinderella-inspired office full of charm, character, and a little magic. ✨

We love flowers as much as the next person… but if we’re being honest?

Most moms would rather have a bigger island, better storage, and a kitchen that doesn’t make hosting feel like an Olympic sport. 😅

After years of making everyone else comfortable, feeding the entire family, hosting the holidays, packing lunches, and somehow doing it all in spaces that no longer work for them… we get it.

The real dream gift is:
✨ a kitchen designed to fit your needs
✨ a bathroom that feels peaceful
✨ a home that feels just as taken care of as the people who live in it

So this is your gentle Mother’s Day reminder: ditch the last-minute bouquet… and start the remodel conversation instead. 😉🏡✨

People don’t always recognize designing and building a home as artistry, but it is.

It’s not just picking finishes. It’s composition, balance, contrast, texture, proportion, light, and emotion all working together to shape how a space feels to live in.

Interior design is storytelling. It’s creating atmosphere. It’s knowing how to make a home feel warm, grounded, elevated, calming, welcoming, or alive, often all at once.

A well-designed home changes the way you move through your day. The way people gather in your kitchen. The way your mornings feel. The way you host friends. The way you unwind at the end of the night. That’s why the details matter so much.

The cabinetry, materials, lighting, layout, architecture, and flow all have to work together to create something that feels effortless, even though an incredible amount of thought went into it behind the scenes. 🏡✨

Most cabinetry layouts are decided without ever understanding how the homeowner actually uses the space.

That’s where our process begins.

We open every drawer, review what you own, and study how you move through your kitchen day to day, where you prep, where things collect, what you reach for most often. From there, we begin mapping drawer configurations, pantry zones, trash placement, and how each element relates to the sink, appliances, and dining areas.

These decisions aren’t visible in the finished space, but they’re what determine whether a kitchen feels intuitive or frustrating to use.

It’s detailed, highly specific work, but it’s what allows the final design to function as well as it looks. 🏡✨

Mudrooms shine when the seasons shift.
In the spring, they catch the mud, rain, and layers that come with unpredictable weather. In the fall, they manage boots, jackets, and everything in between. It’s the space that keeps the mess contained (and the rest of your home feeling calm) no matter what’s coming in from outside. 🏡✨

If you’ll be at the Stand with Sam Gala tonight, be sure to stop by and vote for our Red Kettle stand ✨

We had so much fun bringing it to life, and we’re proud to support The Salvation Army of Rochester, MN and the incredible work of the Good Samaritan Health Clinic, providing essential medical, dental, and pharmacy care to our community.

Hope to see you tonight! 🏡✨

Grout might seem like a minor detail, but it quietly determines how your space holds up over time, how it wears, how it cleans, and how it feels long after the project is complete. The wrong choice can mean constant maintenance, staining, and frustration. The right one? A space that stays as beautiful as the day it was finished.

This is what we mean when we say we think through every detail. 🏡✨
