As we kick off a new week, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible engineers whose dedication, creativity, and problem solving shape our world every single day.
This year, February 22-28 is officially recognized as National Engineers Week—a time to celebrate the extraordinary impact engineers make in our communities and across the planet.
We work in a dynamic and challenging industry where innovation is constant and solutions are critical. Over the past few years, engineers have been at the forefront of addressing some of the world’s toughest challenges—and the years ahead will bring even more opportunities to lead and make a difference.
The City of Rochester and Monroe County have issued a joint proclamation declaring this week as National Engineers Week.
On behalf of the Board of Governors, thank you for your passion, resilience, and countless contributions. Your work truly matters—now more than ever.

This is why, World Refrigeration Day (WRD) has been set aside to recognize the birth date of William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin on June 26, 1824, also recognized as Lord Kelvin in refrigeration world. The World Refrigeration Day (WRD) is an international day established to raise awareness about the importance of refrigeration technologies in day-to-day life. This is why, International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) launched on June 23rd, 2014, in UK as a national campaign by Women’s Engineering Society (WES), has seen tremendous growth - gaining UNESCO patronage in 2016 and achieving global recognition in subsequent year. The International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) is an international day established to promote outstanding work women engineers across the globe are doing in day-to-day life. ASHRAE Rochester - April Refrigeration Night Event at Wegmans 4/14

Our April Meeting will be hosted by our Refrigeration Committee. This month, we will be meeting at the Wegmans Corporate Event Center for dinner and a refrigeration-themed technical presentation. Following the presentation, we will be hosting a refrigeration systems site tour at the Wegmans Distribution Center at 1500 Brooks Avenue. The tour portion of this event will be limited to 30 people. You must attend the dinner & presentation to also attend the site tour.
