Today, we pause to honor, remember, and reflect.
Twenty-five years ago on September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever altered our history. We honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. We pay tribute to the first responders—the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and port authority personnel—who ran toward danger without hesitation, embodying the absolute highest standard of courage and duty.
We also remember the enduring legacy of that day: the remarkable way communities rallied together in the aftermath. Neighbors looked out for neighbors, strangers offered shelter and aid, and a shared sense of unity carried us through one of our darkest hours.
Today, we stand with the families who continue to carry the pain of that loss, and we renew our pledge to never forget their sacrifice, their resilience, and the spirit of service that united a nation.
