Check out this prehistoric sprinkler head🦖➡️💧

This week we replaced an old hydraulic irrigation head in Clover, SC — and honestly, this may be one of the LAST hydraulic sprinkler systems still operating in the area. These systems were once considered cutting-edge decades ago, but compared to today’s technology, they’re becoming rare finds of the irrigation industry.

The old hydraulic setup relied on hydraulic lines and mechanical operation, making repairs difficult, parts scarce, and performance inconsistent over time. While impressive for its era, it can’t really compete with modern irrigation efficiency and reliability that we have now.

Seeing the old hydraulic head next to the new rotor really shows how far irrigation technology has come over the years.

The good news? Even though these systems are “prehistoric,” we still know how to diagnose, repair, and upgrade them when needed. Not every irrigation company has experience working on older hydraulic systems — but we do 😎

If your foot valve is visible at all, DO NOT run your irrigation system.
