I get so tired of people choosing not to understand why small business owners charge what they charge.

It’s 2026. By now, everyone knows what’s going on.

You understand why you need a raise.
You understand why your dollar doesn’t go as far at the grocery store.
You understand why $20 barely fills your gas tank.
You understand why childcare, car insurance, homeowners insurance, rent, mortgages, and utilities have all gone up.

So why is it so hard to understand that small business owners are dealing with those same increases?

Our food costs have gone up.
Our supplies cost more.
Our fuel costs more.
Our equipment is more expensive to repair and replace.
Our insurance has increased.
Our payroll has increased.
Our licensing, permits, taxes, and operating expenses continue to rise.

The difference is that we don’t have a company giving us annual raises. If we don’t adjust our prices, we take the loss ourselves.

When you support a small business, you’re not paying for “just a meal” or “just a product.” You’re helping a family keep their lights on, pay their employees, maintain their equipment, and continue serving the community.

Before saying, “Y’all charge too much,” ask yourself this:

If everything in your life has become more expensive, why would you expect a small business to stay at 2020 prices?

Support small businesses. We appreciate every customer, and we’re doing everything we can to keep providing quality products and great service while keeping our doors open.
