James Marolf is a second generation contractor with 35 years of experience in the Quad Cities area. Through these years of experience, Jim has acquired the knowledge and skill necessary to construct a home from the drawing board to the doorstop. Additionally, Jim excels in custom remodels and home repairs. This comprehensive ability begins with his artistic background, continues with his knowledge
of current codes and building practices, and completes with decades of experience. As an 8 year old, Mr. Marolf attended art classes for gifted children at Augastana College. He later took courses in technical drawing in order to transfer these skills into his chosen profession. Jim's creative aptitude and technical drawing skills give him the unique ability to take a client's vision and translate it into an accurate and functional design plan. He works closely with homeowners to design and handcraft various cabinetry, vanities, entertainment centers, and even furniture. Jim's artistic talents are often useful when clients want to remodel or repair their home. Whether he is putting in new flooring, custom cabinets, or new appliances, Jim has the ability to seamlessly integrate new work with the existing home. Throughout his 35 years in the QC, Jim has maintained an excellent relationship with the cities in which he works. He is licensed, insured, and always knowledgeable on current codes and regulations. Over the years, Jim has honed his ability to accurately diagnose a problem and develop a functional, efficient fix to that problem. This skill even prompted him to spend some time as a licensed home inspector; developing a comprehensive inspection checklist that went above and beyond general code, in order to keep the client as informed as possible. Whether it's his detailed carvings on a custom fireplace or the room addition that didn't increase a heating bill, Jim's tendency to go above and beyond shows up everywhere in his work. He takes great pride in his work, and has true passion for his profession. He always completes his work on time, on budget, and in a clean/respectful manner. This has left Jim with many satisfied customers who can call on his expertise whenever life hits home.
