A huge thank you to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office for helping spread awareness and reminding drivers to watch out for farm equipment on the roads this time of year. Your support means a lot to the farming community.
As planting season kicks into high gear, please remember that behind every tractor and piece of equipment is a husband, wife, father, mother, son, or daughter simply trying to do their job safely and make the most of a very small window of time to get crops in the ground.
We know it can be frustrating to slow down or wait a few extra minutes, but those few minutes can save a life. Farmers are working long hours to help grow the food, fuel, and fiber that feed and support our world.
Please be patient, stay alert, don’t pass unless it’s safe, and give farm equipment extra room on the roads. We all want everyone to make it home safely at the end of the day. 🌱🚜
As you head out on the roads this weekend, remember to watch for tractors and other slow moving vehicles. Farmers are in the fields working hard to provide for our community.
Traffic rules still apply when approaching or passing farm equipment - whether it’s red, blue, or green. Use caution, be patient, and only pass when it is safe to do so.
DO NOT DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING!
- Pass in a no passing area.
- Pass on the shoulder.
- Pass with on coming traffic.
We respect our farmers and want everyone to get home safely.
