PUBLIC WORKS WEDNESDAY: As part of the City’s ramped up 10-Year Bicycle Plan, the traffic engineering team has been implementing new pavement marking. This year alone, 44 miles of bike striping and 179 bike symbols have been installed across the City. The new lines act as delineation for bicycles and parking, as well as thins the travel lanes for vehicles, which has proven to slow speeds by increasing driver attention. This graphic shows examples of markings and what to expect in the areas where these markings are installed.
