Oh Dear Sweet Lord in Heaven 🛐

We come before You today asking that you place a MIGHTY hedge of protection around these glorious pieces of machinery of which we are not worthy.

Lord, we ask that youkeep them running strong, blowing cold, and free from strange noises, frozen coils, burnt capacitors, and all other forms of summertime evil that may arise.

Now Father, we especially lift up these dear dear conditioners of the air.
We pray You’ll fill them with supernatural strength, an overflowing supply of freon , and the work ethic of a man who’s 3 payments behind and trying to make it to Friday.

Give him the endurance to withstand these brutal miserable temps & the swamp-like humidity which the Carolinas bestow upon us each summer.

May the filters stay clean, the drains stay clear, and the thermostats remain untouched by small children.

So you called another company out bc we were booked up😵‍💫

We’re not mad, we don’t blame you we get it.
It’s hot 🥵 and we weren’t available for a few days.

🚨 BEFORE YOU REPLACE YOUR HVAC SYSTEM… READ THIS 🚨

One of the most frustrating things we see in this industry is when a homeowner or business owner is told they need a brand-new system before anyone has taken the time to properly diagnose the problem.

Does it happen? Absolutely.
We see it all the time.

Worst case we’ve personally ever seen as a family that went nearly a month because they could not afford the new system saving up and it was 100+ the entire month and Johnny heard about it went and took a peek and it was a $15 capacitor.

Are there systems that truly need replacement? Of course. That’s life.

 Please hear us out it’s crucial that you trust your contractor if they tell you new unit the first time they meet you tread cautiously, and always always always get multiple estimates from different contractors that are trusted and have proven workmanship. And always that are licensed and insured.

But here’s the truth:
Many HVAC issues that cause poor cooling, high temperatures, or system failures can sometimes be repaired for a fraction of the cost of a new unit.

We’ve seen:�✅ Bad capacitors�✅ Loose wires�✅ Clogged drain lines�✅ Dirty coils�✅ Failed contactors�✅ Thermostat issues
Repairs that cost hundreds or sometimes even less being presented as reasons to spend thousands on a complete replacement.

As a customer, you deserve:�
✔ A thorough diagnosis�✔ An explanation of the problem�✔ Repair options when available�✔ Honest recommendations based on YOUR best interest
If someone immediately tells you that you need a new system, don’t be afraid to ask questions.

One of my biggest pieces of advice would be… if you’re going to replace anything that is costly whether it be a roof, your heating and cooling system your electrical it doesn’t matter even if it’s something to do with your car if it’s a massive undertaking, I would highly encourage you to get multiple quotes from tractors that have a great reputation throughout the community. Long standing workmanship, and that are licensed and insured ( trust me this part is really important. There are so many contractors that are working uninsured and don’t have a license.)

So why does it feel so much hotter today???

Believe it or not, the outside temperature isn’t the only factor.

🌡️ Monday: 95°
🌡️ Tuesday: 95°

Same temperature, right?

Not necessarily.

Reasons a system may perform differently:

☀️ Direct Sun Exposure
If the sun is beating on your roof, walls, and windows all afternoon, your home can absorb significantly more heat than on a cloudy or partly cloudy day.

💧 Humidity
This is a huge one in North Carolina.

AC’s don’t just cool air it removes moisture as well.

On a super humid 95° day, your system is spending lots of extra energy removing moisture AND heat.

On a drier 95° day, it can focus more on cooling. Doesn’t have to work near as hard.

🌬️ Wind
A breezy day can really help reduce heat buildup around parts of the home.

A still day with no breeze allows heat to build and linger.

🚪 Heat Load Inside the Home Cooking supper, running the dryer, having guests over, kids running in and out all day opening doors frequently all add heat your AC must remove.

🌳 Shade
A house shaded by trees at 3 PM will perform differently than the same house in direct afternoon sun.

The easiest way to explain it:

Your air conditioner doesn’t know it’s 95° outside.

It only knows how much heat is entering your home.

Some 95° days bring far more heat and humidity into your house than others, causing your system to work much harder.

☀️ Sun exposure�💧 Humidity�🏠 Insulation�🚪 Air leaks�🌳 Shade around your home�👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Occupancy and activity inside the home
all affect how hard your system has to work.

Think of your air conditioner like a bucket removing water from a boat. If heat enters your home faster than your system can remove it, indoor temperatures may begin to rise even when your equipment is operating properly.

That’s why two 95° days can feel completely different to your air conditioner.

The #1 most common summertime service call we receive is:

“My unit can’t keeping up, thermostat is set on 70°, but during the hottest part of the day gets 73°–75°+ & it runs non stop all day!

Is something wrong?”

Not necessarily. 🤓

During the most extreme summer heat(90-100+° ) a properly functioning air conditioner may run for very long periods of time & still allow the indoor temperature to rise a few degrees above the thermostat setting.

Factors such as:

☀️ Outdoor temperatures in the 90- 100° or above.

🏠 Poorly insulated home & older windows

🚪 Frequent door openings

💧 High humidity levels

🌳 Comstant Sun ☀️ exposure on the home

These all affect how hard your system must work.

In many cases, seeing your home a few degrees above the thermostat setting during the hottest hours of the day is completely normal and does not mean your unit is failing.

A healthy functioning system will remove around 20° of heat of the air passing through the system.

If the temperature catches back up when it cools down in the evening, then you know everything is fine.

If you’re concerned, we’re always happy to check your system and make sure it’s performing as it should.
