🍂 Every fall, it happens... You turn on the heat for the first time, smell toasted dust, and suddenly everyone in the house thinks something is wrong. 😅
The good news? A light dust smell for a few hours is usually normal after your furnace has been sitting unused.
If the smell lasts more than a day, smells electrical, or seems unusually strong, it's a good idea to shut the system off and have it checked by a professional.
Have you fired up your heater yet this season? What was the first thing you noticed: the smell, the warm air, or realizing it's finally sweater weather? 🍂
