This month, we're excited to recognize Brady Taylor, a valued member of our grading team!

Brady joined Blakemore three years ago after working alongside his dad installing windows, doors, and siding. Since then, he's continued to grow his skills, learning specialized grading techniques and how to operate heavy equipment, lay pipe, rake stone, and take on the many responsibilities that help keep our projects moving forward.

One project that stands out to Brady is Wilson Road, where he spent an entire year working alongside the team. Experiences like that have helped shape his career and reinforced the importance of teamwork, communication, and taking pride in a job well done. For Brady, a great day at work is one where everyone works together, communicates effectively, and gets the job done right.

When he's not at work, Brady enjoys spending time with his wife and family and playing Call of Duty. His advice for anyone just starting in the construction industry is simple: "Come to work, enjoy what you're doing, and have fun!"

Brady is known for his strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and ambition. His willingness to jump in, work hard, and support his teammates makes him an important part of the Blakemore family. A piece of history, ready for the next generation.

The Elko Family Memorial is officially complete. History displays are in place, the parking lot is paved, and the building’s electrical work is finished.

We’re proud to have played a part in preserving this site and we hope it becomes a favorite stopping point for history buffs, curious visitors, and anyone who wants to learn more about the area’s past.

Back to the Bank!

Blakemore has completed Part Two of the Darbytown Road Bank Stabilization project, picking up where we left off more than a year ago. The latest phase included new cobble and landscaping designed to help minimize future erosion along the creek banks.

It’s the kind of work that may not always get noticed, but protecting the land, the roadway, and the surrounding environment is an important part of building infrastructure that lasts.

Hermitage Road is looking a whole lot better and a whole lot safer.

Blakemore recently completed improvements along Hermitage Road, including new sidewalks, ADA-accessible ramps, pedestrian refuge areas, and a dedicated bike lane.

The old sidewalks had become uneven and difficult to navigate. Now, the Lakeside community has safer, more accessible paths for walking, biking, and getting around the neighborhood.
