Before and afters of a flowerbed where the Bermuda grass was crowning itself king of the jungle!

Removed w**ds and Bermuda grass, pruned the plants and shrubs back into shape, and topped everything off with fresh mulch.

Now this yard went from “the neighborhood eyesore” to “okayyyy, now we’re talking.”

An area transformed under my guidance and supervision with just a bit of my help.

The area in front of the apartment office was prepped for crushed granite installation to create a cleaner, more polished appearance.

• Removed all w**ds and overgrown grass
• Releveled and compacted the soil for a solid foundation
• Installed landscape fabric to help prevent the granite from settling into the soil over time
• Installed, compacted, and washed the crushed granite to bring out its natural beauty and finished look

This is just one step in the continued beautification of the property, with more improvements to come in the future.

ANOTHER FLOWERBED TRANSFORMATION COMPLETED!

These beds were heavily overrun with Bermuda grass, the edge lines had nearly disappeared, and the existing mulch had broken down and allowed the Bermuda grass to thrive and grow uncontrollably creating conditions that make w**d growth, grass grass growing like a jungle and mulch washout much harder to control over time.

For this project I:
• Trimmed, shaped, and pruned all plants and shrubs to encourage healthy growth and maintain structure
• Removed all existing mulch
• Removed invasive Bermuda grass throughout the beds
• Deepened and redefined the edge lines to create a trench-style border that helps prevent mulch washout and keeps the beds looking clean and defined
• Cleaned up and re-trenched both tree wells
• Removed excess soil buildup around the trees for improved appearance and healthier maintenance conditions
• Installed fresh black mulch for a clean finished look and improved moisture retention

During the estimate, I also noticed multiple irrigation line breaks and punctures that were actively spraying water throughout the flower beds. To help protect the homeowner’s landscape investment and improve irrigation efficiency, I:
• Repaired punctured irrigation lines
• Replaced several damaged sections of irrigation tubing
• Reworked irrigation lines around the tree wells
• Installed protective PVC sleeves over exposed irrigation lines in vulnerable areas to help prevent future damage

One of the biggest long-term benefits of this type of cleanup is prevention. Bermuda grass can quickly take over flower beds if not properly controlled, and maintaining proper edge lines makes future maintenance significantly more effective and efficient.

This homeowner is now on a recurring flower bed maintenance schedule to help keep Bermuda grass under control and maintain the health, shape, and appearance of all plants and shrubs year-round.

Healthy beds don’t happen by accident, they happen with proper maintenance, prevention, and attention to detail.
