Project Manager Holly Faison recently led our Women’s Peer Group on a fantastic tour of Wilson County Schools' new Frederick Douglass Elementary School in Elm City! Designed by Oakley Collier Architects, this 59,386‑square‑foot school will feature 26 classrooms along with dedicated spaces for art, music, STEM, and a modern media center, serving 400 students from pre‑K through fifth grade. Barnhill is excited to bring this project to life and looks forward to seeing the many bright young minds fill its hallways.

Raleigh Division team members recently spent time giving back with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. Office staff rolled up their sleeves to pack food boxes for senior citizens, helping assemble an impressive 1,008 boxes to support neighbors in need.

Last week, we proudly celebrated the topping out of the new addition to The Brody School of Medicine — a major milestone in bringing this transformative facility to life. The Brody Center for Medical Education is a seven‑story, 195,000‑square‑foot structure which will feature new learning studios, flexible collaboration spaces, a 28‑bed anatomy lab, and a dedicated home for simulation and standardized patient programs. The project also includes a new parking garage and central utility plant, expanding the campus’s capacity to support future generations of medical professionals.

This progress reflects the dedication and coordination of an incredible project team which includes:

⬣ 58 trade partners contributing their expertise
⬣ More than 1,100 workers completing site safety orientation
⬣ Over 350,000 man‑hours invested to date

We celebrated the progress of Wilson Community College’s BEST Center of Eastern NC yesterday with a Milestone Event featuring tours of the new facility currently under construction! We’re proud to be design-build partners with O’Brien Atkins on this project, which is paving the way for expanded workforce training, stronger educational pathways, and long-term economic growth for our community.

Check out the progress of the College of The Albemarle's new Health Sciences building in Elizabeth City, NC! The new three-story, state-of-the-art facility is designed for hands-on learning, with dedicated labs, classrooms, and a simulation lab.
