A lower price does not always mean a lower project cost.

When comparing metal-building proposals, look beyond the number at the bottom of the page.

Ask four questions:

• What is included?

• What is specifically excluded?

• What work remains my responsibility?

• Are both proposals based on the same materials, building systems, and performance requirements?

Foundations, insulation, er****on, permits, and utilities can represent substantial costs. If necessary work is excluded from a proposal, it still needs to be accounted for in your overall budget.

Compare scope. Not just price.

Understanding the complete project before signing a contract helps you make a more informed decision and reduces expensive surprises during construction.

Thank you to the Metal Building Contractors & Erectors Association (MBCEA) for the recognition and, more importantly, for the continued support you provide to Hoffman Construction Services and our industry.

I’ll take this opportunity to say to my fellow contractors and erectors: if you’re not involved with MBCEA, I strongly encourage you to take a closer look.

The value goes far beyond having your company name on a membership list. It’s the relationships you build, the knowledge shared between industry professionals, the safety and training resources, the support toward programs such as AC478 Accreditation, and the opportunity to learn from people who face many of the same challenges we do every day.

One thing I’ve come to appreciate is that making our industry better takes all of us. When contractors, erectors, manufacturers, suppliers, and industry professionals are willing to share experiences and raise the bar together, everyone benefits.

Hoffman Construction Services has gained immensely from our involvement with MBCEA, and I’m proud to support an organization that is committed to making the metal building industry safer, stronger, and more professional.

Thank you again, MBCEA. I’m grateful for the recognition—but even more grateful to be part of the organization.

Long before anyone trusted me to lead a project, I spent years learning how to build one.

That single sentence captures the journey I've been on for the last 25+ years.

I recently updated my LinkedIn "About" section, and while it highlights what I do today as Founder and President of Hoffman Construction Services, it also reflects why I do it.

Over the years, I've learned that construction isn't just about steel, concrete, or buildings.

It's about trust.

It's about showing up when you say you will.

It's about solving problems before they become someone else's.

It's about creating opportunities for people to build meaningful careers.

It's about sending every employee home safely at the end of the day.

And it's about leaving every client confident they made the right decision.

As Hoffman Construction Services continues to grow, my goal isn't simply to build more projects—it's to build a company known for integrity, accountability, craftsmanship, and relationships that last long after the ribbon cutting.

To everyone who's been part of this journey—clients, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, mentors, and friends—thank you for your trust. You've helped shape both my career and the company we're building together.

We’re excited to be working on something special for Nations Ford High School in Fort Mill, SC!

Our team is currently erecting a new 14,000 sq. ft. building that will include a weight room and boys & girls locker rooms for student-athletes.

We appreciate the opportunity to work alongside Davco Roofing & Sheet Metal on this project.

Projects like this are what it’s all about—building spaces that support the next generation both on and off the field.
