We had such a great weekend hosting teams from all over the region for the ASCE Mid-America Symposium! We took home a few paddles, including first in Project Proposal and third Overall!

Our full score breakdown is as follows:

2nd in Women’s Slalom
3rd in Women’s Sprint
2nd in Co-Ed Sprint
1st in Project Proposal

The weekend might not have gone exactly as planned, but we had a blast attending the Concrete Canoe Competition at the 2023 ASCE Mid-America Symposium! We placed 4th in Project Proposal, 5th in Technical Presentation, and 7th Overall. We look forward to hosting the 2024 Symposium right here on the Missouri S&T campus!

We have a canoe! Last weekend, was "Placement Day" where the team mixed and placed concrete batches to form their competition canoe. Now, the canoe has to cure before we are able to demold!

2023 Placement Day was a success! The team spent Saturday working hard to bring "Benjamin" to life. Next, the canoe has to cure for 28 days before we demold in mid-February. More pictures coming soon!

Our last officer spotlight is our Student Council Representative, Jessica! Jessica is a senior studying Civil Engineering. She enjoys being able to talk with and meet new people in her position. Her advice to students is to be involved on campus and try new things. When not spending time with Concrete Canoe or with Student Council on our behalf, she takes part in Chi Omega, on the Student Union Board, and enjoys hiking, reading, and trying new food. Jessica is also an intern for USACE.
