A storm system will move through the lower Ohio Valley today, bringing rain chances to areas mainly south of I-80. Colder air will also return to the region on blustery north winds, with temperatures settling into the mid-30s in most areas. Another upper level disturbance will bring scattered rain and snow showers to the area tonight, as well as some lake effect showers to northwest Indiana. These showers will transition mainly to snow showers tonight, with some minor accumulations of wet snow possible into early Friday in northwest Indiana. Blustery and colder conditions will persist Friday, with snow showers tapering to flurries across Illinois and lake the light effect snow ending by evening in northwest Indiana. Dry weather returns over the weekend, with temperatures eventually moderating back into the low to mid 40s on Sunday. Next week starts off mild but rainy.
