Krystin just completed her very first nuisance beaver control job with Mike Berg, and absolutely crushed it! Two beavers caught on the first set!
She is our new field tech for insects, animals & scheduling. She’s doing a fantastic job and I’m sure most of you will get a chance to meet her this season.

Independence Day is coming up!

We have had a lot of calls for Carpenter ants lately, but most people do not have carpenter ants. We do not treat Carpenter ants at this time. So it's important to know the difference.

Noticeable Differences;

Carpenter ants are huge, about ½ inch to 5/8 inches.

Black Garden ants or the Common black ant are about half that size. Though the Common ant queen will grow to about 1/3 inch, you'll seldom see one.

Carpenter ants have triangular heads instead of rounded heads like the Common black ant.

Carpenter ant antennas are bent and not straight like the Common ant.

The petiole that connects the chest to the abdomen is singular on a Carpenter ant, while other ants have two distinct sections.

Carpenter ants also grow wings during mating season, while other black ants don't.

Carpenter ants live in soft, wet wood and burrow tunnels by chewing through and leaving sand size particles of saw dust behind. Check your home for sawdust piles on floors and windowsills. You'll usually see Carpenter ants coming out of cracks of your walls. This is a sign of an infestation.

When any ants enter the home, it's usually because they discovered food. Common black ants form trails between food sources and the colony. The colony is usually outside but sometimes it will be inside under houseplants, pots or containers.

All ants are extremely hard to get rid of and are in a completely different price point for pest control services. They live in large colonies with multiple queens and reproduce quickly.
