McNamara Contracting is a locally owned third generation family business. Currently McNamara Contracting has over 115 team members.

Servicing the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, McNamara Contracting and Midwest Concrete Specialties self-perform utility installation, base construction, concrete installation, grading, and asphalt paving. Throughout the over 60 years we have been in business we have continued to adapt to the ever-changing specifications, technology advancements, environmental requirements, and our customer’s needs

. As a group we continue to focus on exceeding the expectations of all stakeholders in every project we take on. We are able to realize efficiencies to provide our customers with value that’s unprecedented in street and parking lot construction. We are vertically integrated:
- We mine, supply, and process the aggregates used in the asphalt and base materials on our projects
- We self-perform the grading, base construction, concrete installation, utility installation, and asphalt paving on our projects
- Our state of the art, energy efficient, and environmentally friendly asphalt plant produces the asphalt mixes exceeding specifications on our projects
It is because of this vertical integration that we can deliver projects on-time and with a single point of contact for our customers for all the work being performed. This sets us apart from the industry.

Congratulations to McNamara Contracting, Inc. for their achievements in safety this past year in the CHASE (Construction Health and Safety Excellence) program! CHASE contractors were honored at a 20th Anniversary celebration of this longest-running cooperative compliance partnership with MNOSHA yesterday at Ames Center.

There is much to celebrate! Collectively, CHASE members achieved 33M work hours in 2022 with a 1.12 incident rate, making CHASE jobsites more than 76% safer than the remainder of the Minnesota construction industry.

Thanks to our keynote speaker Garrison Wynn, Department of Labor & Industry Commissioner Nicole Blissenbach, and Former AGC Safety Director Doug Swenson for their inspiring remarks!

Last night our crews finished paving one of our biggest projects of the year. County Road 42 in Burnsville took 7 nights to complete. Big shout out to our amazing crews, plant staff, and drivers for working through the long nights! We would also like to thank Burnsville PD and the for their assistance with traffic control.

Responsibilities – Manage, implement, maintain, and train other team members using construction technologies used in the field and office. This will include but is not limited to managing GPS machine control, creating and maintaining models for GPS machine control, completing take offs on plans, and thermal imaging and intelligent compaction in paving. This is a leadership position, and this person will work with other team members, vendors, engineers, and surveyors to use and implement construction technologies to create efficiencies and meet specifications in all our operations.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience – 2 years of managing GPS machine control and experience with the following software: Trimble, Trimble Business Center, and Agtek.
This is a year-round salaried position. Compensation is negotiable and based on previous experience. Compensation package will include medical and dental insurance, retirement (401k) plan and company contributions, company vehicle, and flexibility for a work/life balance.
