On July the 4th 1927 then President Calvin Coolidge celebrated his birthday at the Black Hills South Dakota National Monument. He invited a then famous band to play for him and his family and friends. The band was the ”Terry Montana Cowboy Band”! And my grandfather was the band leader. He is the man with the trumpet and big tan Stetson carrying the baton in his right hand on the left in the photo which is to the right of the President. This is the man that taught me how and why to FLY FISH!
He was also the Postmaster of the Fallon Montana Post Office. One of my treasured memories was fishing with my grandfather! I still have his bamboo fly rod! And I dedicated the fly wallets I make in memory of him.
