10 sheets of decking. That’s what was hiding under this roof.

You can’t see decking from the ground. You can’t see it from a ladder. You only see it after the old shingles come off — and that’s the moment a lot of roofing companies decide it’s cheaper to just keep going.

We tore off, found rot across 10 sheets, replaced every one, then built the roof back the right way.

A roof is only as good as what it’s nailed to.

When we tore off this roof, the deck told us everything the old roof was hiding. Rotted plywood. Split boards. Holes you could drop a hammer through. Insulation showing daylight.

We replaced 20 full sheets of decking before a single shingle went down.

Here’s the thing — a lot of crews would’ve nailed right over that. Shingles would’ve looked fine from the driveway. And in three years the homeowner would’ve been calling somebody about leaks and sagging.

We don’t do that. If the deck is bad, we replace the deck. Period.

New decking. New synthetic underlayment. New drip edge. GAF Timberline HD shingles. Ridge vent for proper attic airflow. Pipe boots redone right.

That’s a roof built to last 30 years, not 3.
