Your leadership, advocacy, and continued commitment to strengthening and protecting Massachusetts steel fabricators are deeply appreciated. We’re grateful for your partnership and support throughout this effort.

🏗️ STEEL STRONG DAY 💪 at the Massachusetts State House!

Capone Iron employees – along with other dedicated Steel Fabricators of New England members and supporters – sponsored a day of action to help build legislative support for two proposed Buy American bills (S-2167 and H-3411, Promoting Domestic Manufacturing).

S-2167 and H-3411 represent an opportunity to strengthen domestic manufacturing, support local jobs, and invest in the long-term future of the steel fabrication industry here in Massachusetts.

Bill sponsors State Senator Joan Lovely (Assistant Majority Leader & Chair of the Senate and Joint Committees on Rules) and Representative Jeff Roy (House Chair of the Manufacturing Caucus), were in attendance, along with Representative Kristin Kassner (2nd Essex District). We were also visited by Representative Antonio Cabral (Chairperson, Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight), State Senator Nick Collins (Senate Chair, Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight) and Representative Rich Haggerty (House Chair, Joint Committee on Housing). Representatives from AISC were also present, and instrumental to the day's success as well.

This past week, CIC said a fond farewell to Steve Kinney, who worked for Capone Iron over the past thirteen years and was instrumental to the development and success of our North Woods location. First as an Estimator, then General Manager, and later as Detailing Manager.
In attendance for a luncheon were local businessmen Bud and Bob Chapman of Chapman Industries, Head of the Division of Economic Development for NH, Benoit Lamontagne, and Executive Councilor Joe Kenney, who presented Steve with a special proclamation from the Governor and the Executive Council for outstanding contribution to the steel industry and the state and local economy. The event was covered by Paul Robitaille of The Berlin Sun newspaper (see accompanying article).
We are thankful to Steve for all his hard work and dedication to our growth over the years! We will miss him and wish him the very best in his retirement!
