Cabinets do not stop at the kitchen.

This is Mid Continent in a laundry room, and it gets the same construction and the same design attention as anything built for a kitchen. Framed cabinets, all plywood construction, soft close doors and drawers, and a finish selection wide enough to make a utility room feel like it belongs in the rest of the house.

Renderings for a Salisbury, MA kitchen going in the Mid Continent Signature line.

The door is the Henri in maple, square profile. Clean lines, nothing fussy, the kind of door that still looks right in fifteen years.

Modified full overlay on the wall and tall cabinets keeps the reveals tight, so the run reads as one continuous piece instead of a bunch of separate boxes. Glass fronts on a few uppers break it up, and the open shelves give the everyday stuff somewhere to live.

Anyone can make a cabinet look good in a showroom. The parts that decide whether it lasts are the parts nobody photographs.

Four things worth doing before buying cabinets from anyone, here or anywhere else.

Pull a drawer all the way out and look at the box itself. Plywood holds up for decades. Particleboard swells the first time water finds it.

Put a hand on the hinges and glides. Good hardware costs more for a reason, and on a bargain cabinet it is the first thing to quit.

Ask who planned the storage and why. A real design gets built around how a family actually lives. Stock boxes lined up until the wall runs out is not a design.

Ask where the cabinets were built. Every line in the Rowley showroom is American-made, which keeps pricing steadier and lead times realistic.

A kitchen should be the room you are proudest of, not the story you tell friends as a warning.

Part two on Mid Continent: the Signature series.

Same manufacturer as Pivot, built a step up. Better construction, better finished product, and it moves you into a limited lifetime warranty.

The real difference is what can be changed. Box sizes adjust in quarter inch increments, so a layout gets built to the actual room instead of padding the gaps with filler strips. Stiles can be extended. Interior organization opens up considerably.

That sounds minor until it is your kitchen and those inches come back as usable storage instead of a strip of wood.

Signature sits in the middle of the lineup. Not the entry point, not the premium tier. It tends to be the right call for a first renovation, or a new house where the kitchen needs updating without the budget going sideways.

New line in the showroom: Mid Continent.

It sits under the MasterBrand umbrella, the same parent company behind the other lines carried here, so the build quality is a known quantity going in.

The Pivot series is the reason it came in. All plywood construction. Soft close doors and drawers. Dovetail drawer boxes. Five year warranty. A long list of colors and door styles.

The part that matters most to anyone on a timeline: Pivot is running four to seven weeks right now.

It is semi-custom, so modifications are more limited than the higher lines. Some changes are possible, just not everything. Worth knowing before you fall in love with a layout that needs them.

A Newburyport homeowner had just moved in and was staring at a kitchen decision.

The cabinets were solid and the layout already worked. New floors and countertops were on the way. Tearing out good cabinetry would have been wasted money.

We refinished them on site instead, through our Spray-Net partnership.

The process: doors, drawer fronts, and hardware come off while the cabinets stay in place. Sand, clean, prime. Then Spray-Net Boston North Shore North Shore sprays a finish made specifically for kitchen cabinets, carrying a 15 year warranty.

We matched the green to a mudroom storage unit we built for this same customer, so the two spaces finally connect.
