I meet the best people in my job. This client and I hit it off immediately. We even worked together because we enjoyed chatting so much.

And this garden. Truly a secret garden, new to both of us, as she’s the new homeowner!

There is still lots of uncovering to do on the property, but this felt like a dream. 🫶👩‍🌾😍🥰

I started working on this section today, focusing on the far left. Every plant here has multiple years of unchecked growth.

So under every plant is another plant, at least one, usually 5, if you count the clover and sorrel.

Under a glorious Holly, I found some ornamental grasses and a beautiful hosta.

I pulled mountains of mugwort and grass, baby maple trees of all kinds, discovering countless perennials and bulbs.

As I was leaving, I told my lovely client: “That middle section is full of good stuff. I don’t want to rush it. So, I’lI start there when I come back.” 😍

What’s in there?

Sedum, black eyed Susans, moss phlox, irises . . . .

Doing what I love!

Removing endless summer hydrangea for Chokeberry, Peony, & Salvia.

Tomorrow and around the corner to the right, we are designing and installing a native shade garden.

So, I’ll get a break from the sun. 😂
