My current work in progress is a shade garden, and it is a work of art!

My client and I have been working together to capture the dappled light as it shifts during the day, layering in native ground covers, ferns, shrubs, and flowering perennials.

Next: adding more compost, defining the garden path, and mulch.

They will be too big and flop over when they bloom if you do not.

When they are flopping over, you will ask how to fix that.

Fix it now!

Cut them back about 1/3 of their current growth.

I meet the best people in my job. This client and I hit it off immediately. We even worked together because we enjoyed chatting so much.

And this garden. Truly a secret garden, new to both of us, as she’s the new homeowner!

There is still lots of uncovering to do on the property, but this felt like a dream. 🫶👩‍🌾😍🥰
