City Wilding: On a New York terrace, planting becomes an act of soft reclamation. Salvia, Achillea and Astrantia, amongst others, are woven with ornamental grasses to form a layered tapestry of texture and movement, shifting with wind and light across the seasons.

Benefitting both people and pollinators, the planting offers nectar-rich habitat for bees and butterflies, turning a high-rise setting into a small but meaningful urban ecosystem.

At this Rumson estate overlooking the Navesink River, the stone’s layered striations and subtle swirls echo the ripples and turns of the river beyond. Each piece honours the rhythm of the water and the land, creating a seamless connection between architecture, landscape, and view.

On this Upper East Side penthouse terrace, the scrolled brackets of the lanterns reappear on the DEA-designed iron trellis. Plantings rise from the terracotta pots and expand across the trellis to create a ceiling of roses.
