Anthony Carnes, Director of Safety for Branscum Construction Company, Inc., has been honored as the Safety Professional of the Year by the Associated General Contractors of AGC of Kentucky, Inc.. The award was presented during the organization’s Annual Safety Conference on February 18, 2026.
This prestigious recognition highlights Carnes’ outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment to jobsite safety, and significant contributions to advancing safety standards throughout Kentucky’s construction industry.

Carnes has built a reputation for proactive safety management, hands-on leadership, and fostering a culture where safety is a shared responsibility. As Director of Safety, Carnes oversees comprehensive safety programs for Branscum Construction and its subsidiary, Precision Er****on Company. His responsibilities include overseeing project safety, training and mentoring field personnel, conducting regular site audits, and ensuring full compliance with OSHA standards and industry best practices.
Carnes has been actively involved with AGC of Kentucky since 2019 and currently serves on the Safety & Protect Committee. He was appointed Vice Chairman in 2022 and advanced to Chairman in 2023, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to strengthening safety practices across the state’s construction industry.
