We are looking to hire for two landscaping/lawn care positions for the 2021 season. Reliable and detail oriented, responsibilities include but not limited to use of various hand tools, trimmers, backpack blowers, mowers, and other small-engine equipment. Must be able to lift 75+ pounds, stand for long periods of time, follow and execute verbal and written instructions. Lawn care experience is a plus but is not necessary, a willingness to learn and grow in the industry is a must. If you receive unsolicited seeds in the mail DO NOT PLANT THEM! These seeds are of unknown origin, believed to possibly be from China. Several states’ Departments of Agriculture across the country are warning their citizens, and there have been reports of people receiving them in our area as well. If you receive them, you should contact your local Cooperative Extension office or department of agriculture to report them. There are major concerns about the origin of these seeds, agricultural terrorism being one of those concerns.

Despite last week’s rain we are still in Moderate Drought conditions in our area.

The latest drought monitor was released today. The heavy rainfall we received last week helped ease conditions in sections of our area, even bringing parts of western Maine out of drought conditions. Unfortunately, conditions have persisted or worsened outside of this area.
