DFW Remodel Update – Monday Progress!

DFW is moving forward with the remodel! Monday was dedicated to insulation and sheetrock installation.

Closed-cell spray foam insulation was applied to the kitchen’s exterior walls before the new sheetrock was installed. Combined with the new exterior waterproofing, insulation board, and brickwork designed to match the existing home, these improvements provide additional protection against future water intrusion and unwanted air pe*******on.

Once the insulation was complete, new sheetrock was installed on all the newly constructed walls, bringing us another step closer to completing the remodel. As you can see, progress is moving along nicely!

Continue Following Our Remodel Journey with DFW Precise Remodeling! 🛠️🏡

In the photos below, you’ll see the progress our team is making as we move through the next phase of this remodel!

Our plumbers have completed the rough-in work, including installing the flexible gas line in the half wall for the future cooktop/range. The unit will be installed in the cabinetry that will be mounted against this half wall.

Our electricians have also completed the electrical rough-in, installing the wiring and electrical boxes in the proper locations and according to code in preparation for the future installation of outlets and switches.

During a recent visit, the homeowner noticed the metal plates we were installing on the studs in various locations and asked what they were for. We explained that these are called nail guards. While not every contractor uses them, we make them a standard part of our process! These protective metal plates help prevent nails and screws from accidentally puncturing electrical wiring and plumbing lines that pass through wall studs. It’s an important safety measure that helps protect the homeowner and the integrity of the home's systems.

Lastly, we're removing the existing wood flooring to prepare for the next steps: installing blown-in insulation and hanging the sheetrock.

🚨 MAJOR WORK BEGINS! 🚨

After months of planning, evaluating, and making sure every detail was covered, construction has officially begun! 🏠🔨

We’ve been working with a longtime homeowner in Plano whose home has been unoccupied for more than a year because of significant water damage. Before we touched a thing, both the homeowner and our team at DFW Precise Remodeling wanted to make absolutely sure the project was properly evaluated and planned from the ground up.

That meant bringing in an architect and engineer to inspect the property, evaluate the structure, and develop plans for transforming the kitchen and living areas into the open, functional space the homeowner envisioned.

And now… IT’S GO TIME! 💪

Here’s what’s happening so far:

🔨 The kitchen is completely demolished — removing the old materials and getting down to the foundation of the remodel.

🏗️ Structural beams have been installed between the kitchen and living areas, allowing us to open up the space and create the open-concept look the homeowner wanted.

🚪 A brand-new sliding patio door has been installed, replacing the existing windows and creating a much better connection to the outside.

🚰 New plumbing is in! We’re currently at the “rough-in” stage, getting everything properly positioned before the walls and finishes go back in.

🧱 A new half-wall has been constructed between the kitchen and living area. This will become part of the new kitchen layout, with cabinets, a new oven, and a gas cooktop.

💡 Electrical work is underway! Our electricians are installing new wiring, outlets, switches, and lighting throughout the remodeled space.

And this is only the beginning! 👀

A local homeowner had moved out of her home and was preparing to list the property with a local Realtor. Her goal was simple: get the most value possible when it hit the market.

❤️ Tuesday was National Giving Day!

At DFW Precise Remodeling, we’re blessed to do business in communities that have given us so much support over the years. That’s why, whenever we have an opportunity to give back, we believe we have a responsibility to do so.

Recently, we learned that food banks in Wylie were running low on something as simple — yet so important — as peanut butter and jelly. David was honored to step in and deliver items to help meet that need.

Then, another opportunity came our way. A wheelchair became available, and we were grateful to be able to donate it to God’s Pantry in Plano. We know that something as basic as a wheelchair can mean so much to someone who needs greater mobility, independence, and dignity.

These moments remind us that help doesn’t always have to be big to make a big difference. Sometimes, it’s simply noticing a need and asking, “What can we do to help?”

We don’t do this for recognition. We do it because these are our communities, these are our neighbors, and when we can help, we want to help.

🇺🇸 A Special Day We Must Never Forget! 🇺🇸

I took the morning off from work to attend the City of Sachse’s Remembrance Ceremony honoring the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, the memories of that tragic day remain deeply etched in our hearts. On September 11, our nation was attacked when the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and other locations were struck by unimaginable acts of terror. So many innocent Americans lost their lives, and countless families, first responders, military members, and fellow citizens were forever changed.

Today, we pause to remember and honor every life lost that day. We remember the heroes who ran toward danger while others were running away. We remember the families who faced unimaginable heartbreak. And we remember the incredible courage, unity, and patriotism that brought Americans together in the days that followed.

It was an honor to stand alongside the officials and leaders of the City of Sachse as our community came together to pay tribute to those we lost and to those who sacrificed so much.

I was also honored to have the opportunity to take a photo with Mayor Jeff Bickerstaff.

May we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who served, and the sacrifices made for our great nation.

We love our loyal customers—especially on Labor Day! 🇺🇸🔨

We Support the American Rancher! 🇺🇸🐂
My wife, Debbie, and I were honored to purchase and donate ½ ton of cattle feed to the Forney High School Agriculture Department on Tuesday.

We met with Agriculture Instructor Beth Malone, whose students graciously helped unload the feed onto a pallet. The donation will be picked up by Lee Wells, who is spearheading the Ross Fire Relief Drive to provide assistance to cattlemen in Palo Pinto and Jack Counties, Texas.

Recent wildfires have destroyed thousands of acres of natural grassland, leaving many ranchers facing significant challenges in feeding and caring for their cattle.
