I am the daughter of a carpenter so I come by my love of wood naturally. From a very young age, I was helping my dad with “side jobs” such as enclosing carports, pouring concrete (LOTS of concrete), re-roofing houses and hanging doors. While I admit it wasn’t always fun, I am proud that I can “swing a hammer” and use power tools. When I was 7, my family lived in a two-car garage for 2 years while

we built our house. Not many kids can say they “knocked-down” the stucco in their own bedroom. As an adult, I made all of the wood furniture in my house. After the furniture, I decided to try my hand at turning. I admit, I was very SCARED initially. I had seen many projects come flying off the lathe and it was intimidating to think I was going to put a sharp object to something that was spinning 600 RPM. I found out quickly that wood turning is an addiction. I am constantly browsing friends’ wood piles and can’t drive down a dirt road at normal speed because I am always “shopping”. What I most enjoy is when I can turn something special for a friend. I have turned necklaces for a few friends and inlaid the brass from their loved one’s 21 gun funeral salute. I also made a key chain for a friend and inlaid her brass from the first elk she shot. These things are most enjoyable to make. Thank you for browsing my items. Please know I appreciate kind words and comments just as much as a purchase.

First time working with cedar and first time using this food safe finish (Watco brand). It wasn’t my favorite wood to work with but, it got done. My mum wanted me to make this so she could give it as a gift.

I haven’t posted much in recent months. My lathe broke and I’ve been preoccupied with other things, but I did manage to get a few pieces made for the Colors of Copper. I was happy to win 3rd place with my urn “End of the Road”. The other piece is called “Just a Little Pot”.

I meant to post this long ago. My little urn family. These are all spoken for. My urns are all special order, and since this is my “side hustle”, I need at least 4-6 weeks heads up. These range in size from, small/med pet, to partial human to whole human.

My latest urn. This one is going to show in March. I always get asked if I’m going to make my own urn. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m going in a Ziplock bag. I’m not wasting a good piece of wood on myself. (This one is big enough for an entire person’s remains).
