𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 is a reminder that checking in on each other can save lives.

This month, Local 1098 is out on construction sites talking with our members about our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and the resources available when life gets tough.

Construction workers are known for being strong, hardworking, and resilient—but 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞.

Sometimes the most important question you can ask a brother or sister is: “Are you okay?”

Our EAP is here to provide confidential support and resources for our members and their families. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, financial struggles, family issues, or thoughts of suicide—𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞.

Our blood drive just got a little more exciting!
Thanks to a new partnership with Central Michigan University, we have the opportunity to raffle off some CMU Football tickets. Five lucky winners will each recieve 4 tickets and a parking pass for the football game on Sept. 12th! Everyone who participates in Tuesday's Blood Drive will be entered to win!

Today is , celebrating the anniversary of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote.
Beyond the ballot box, we work to ensure equality, solidarity, and continue to fight for the women paving the way for the next generation of Laborers.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who came to our Food Distribution at the Tuscola Technology Center in Caro, MI. We were able to distribute food benefiting 151 families!

Congratulations, Landon!
Great things are in store for you!

This week's features Landon Scharich, grandson of Laborers Local 1098 member Duane Scharich!
"My grandfather's commitment to LIUNA has taught me the importance of and value of knowing a has your back. Seeing him still remain active, long after retirement, makes me want that for myself, and I'm going to take that inspiration into my future education and career."
Landon will be attending Michigan Technological Univeristy this fall, working to obtain a degree in Mechanical Engineering, from there, his hope is to move into the aerospace or automotive industry.
We know whatever choice Landon makes, he is sure to find success!
