Went on a service call out. Leather cups leaking on a deep well jet assembly. This customer had the jet assembly replaced this past fall by another company because I was out of town for football game. I did basically the same thing as them, take pump off well, pull drop pipe and jet assembly. I replaced leather cups and foot valve. They replaced the whole jet assembly in photo. Took me 1.5 hrs to complete, arrival to leaving. They charged this customer 5.5 hrs to do basically the same thing. It’s not a 5.5 hr job. Customer calls, air in lines. I show up and customer has a submersible pump. This is how I found it below. Customer states he had this problem before and called another company who went out there and took his schraeder valve off the well and put that 1/4” plug and took his apparently bad air release off the tank and installed what ya see in picture below. I put a new schraeder valve back on the well and added a new air release on the tank. System working great now. Air release adjusted to make sure it dumps excess air. Any pump problems, give me a call.

Customer calls and said she ran over her well. I came yesterday, pouring rain and lightning. Saw well was broken below ground and covered with water. Told her will hafta come in the morning. Had to bust concrete grout, dig below the break and repair the well casing. Then blew the well out to get the muddy water and grass out that poured into the well. Chlorinated the well, repaired the melted fittings on pump as she didn’t turn pump off until later. All good in the hood now!

Well, once again freezing temperatures are upon us. Make sure your tank isn’t waterlogged for when you run your water. If waterlogged it will turn off and on constantly which could result with pump running hot, messing up the contacts, popping a capacitor and then pump don’t run and then freezes and cracks resulting in costly replacement costs. If you’re not sure, call and schedule with me so I can go out there and get you prepared.

Was finishing up what I thought was my last call out of the day at 5:00 pm. I get a text, an apartment complex is out of water. When do I think I can get out there? When I finish this call out…..kids got school tomorrow and hafta bathe! Got em fixed up!
