Low-slope dead valley done right.

On this project, a shingle roof valley tied into a wall at the entry—one of the highest-risk details for leaks if not handled correctly. We framed and detailed a low-slope cricket to move water efficiently, then installed a 2-ply modified bitumen system for long-term waterproofing.

We finished the termination with a secure termination bar and high-grade polyurethane sealant, then fabricated and installed custom counterflashing over top for added protection—sealed again for a clean, watertight finish.

This is what separates a “covered” detail from a properly engineered roofing system. Every layer has a purpose. Every transition is accounted for.

90% complete on this Ludowici slate clay tile carriage house roof in Jacksonville, FL. Just wrapping up the final details—ridge cap and gable trim.

Built it right with copper flashing, drip edge, and wall flashing, all tied in with a 2-ply modified bitumen base for extra protection where it matters most.
