Final Stage – Finish Coat Application

Sandblast existing Dryvit finish coat as needed and apply new finish coat to restore a uniform appearance. Work performed by trained and certified EIFS professionals. A&K Construction is AWCI EIFS Industry Professional certified, manufacturer trained by Tremco and Dryvit Systems, fully insured, and experienced in commercial and residential EIFS restoration projects.

Bloomingdale Portillo's – EIFS Restoration Project
Project spotlight from our ongoing building envelope restoration in Bloomingdale.
During our investigation, we discovered the EIFS system had been installed directly over metal lath, which contributed to wall cracking and allowed water intrusion over time. To properly address the issue, our team opened the wall, evaluated the substrate, and restored the affected areas using additional mechanical anchors where movement and cracking had occurred.

Sealant replacement starts with proper preparation — not applying new caulking over failed caulking like it was done before.

The existing sealant failed due to improper installation and lack of surface preparation. Proper repair procedures include removing all existing sealant, cleaning and preparing the joint, installing backer rod where required, and applying manufacturer-approved Tremco sealant for a long-lasting waterproof seal.
