Everyone thinks spring is the big lawn care moment. It's not, September is!

Right now, soil temps are still warm (that's the germination sweet spot) while air temps are cooling off, so grass roots grow faster with way less heat stress. Add in more consistent rain and fewer weeds competing for nutrients, and you've got the best window all year to repair summer damage.

If your lawn looks thin, patchy, or tired after this summer, aeration and overseeding now means a noticeably thicker, healthier yard by next spring. Wait until spring to start and you're already behind. 💔

Ready to get your lawn back on track before the window closes? Call us at 740-695-0070!

A beautiful backyard is great. A beautiful backyard that works for everyone in the family? Even better. 🐶🌿

If you’ve got four-legged family members, here are a few things to think about when planning your landscape:

🐾 Room to run: Keep some open lawn or usable space for those inevitable zoomies.

🌳 Plenty of shade: Trees and thoughtfully placed plantings can create cooler spots to relax on hot summer days.

🌿 Pet-friendly plants: Not every popular landscape plant is safe for pets, so plant selection matters.

💧 Good drainage: Less standing water and mud = happier dogs and homeowners.

🪨 Durable materials: Choose paths, borders and ground coverings that can handle plenty of paws and activity.

🚧 Safe boundaries: Consider how fencing, gates and landscape design work together to keep pets where they belong.

And one of the biggest tips? Design around how your family actually uses the yard. A great landscape shouldn’t just look good in pictures — it should work for the people and pups who live there.

Sidewalks and sheds need a little love, too. 😉🌿

When we say full-property transformation, we mean it.

That includes the spaces you walk past every day without thinking much about them — the side of the house, the path to the backyard, even the landscaping around the shed.

A few thoughtful plantings, fresh stone and some added color turned these forgotten little corners into spaces that feel like they were always meant to be part of the landscape.

Because good landscaping shouldn’t stop where the “main” yard ends. 🌱

From the backyard to the front yard… this transformation just keeps going. 👏🌿

We showed you what happened out back — now take a look at the front.

What started as dated, sparse landscaping was completely reworked to give this home a polished, established look. Fresh river rock, defined beds, sculpted evergreens, colorful plantings and layers of texture now frame the home from the street all the way to the front door.

And this is why we love a whole-property transformation. It’s not about fixing one flower bed — it’s about creating a landscape that feels intentional from every angle.

Swipe to see where this front yard started. ➡️

More plants = better landscaping… right? 🌿 Not necessarily.

A great landscape isn’t about filling every empty space. It’s about choosing the right plants for the right places — and giving them enough room to grow into the landscape they were meant to be.

Height, texture, color, mature size and spacing all matter. Sometimes, a little breathing room is exactly what a landscape needs.

Because the goal isn’t more. It’s balance. 👏

Before ➡️ After 😍

Talk about bringing a backyard to life. 🌿 What was once an underused hillside with existing retaining walls and sparse plantings is now a lush garden bed overflowing with color and texture.

✔️ Existing hillside transformed into a full landscape bed
✔️ Mass plantings of colorful flowering perennials
✔️ Ornamental grasses for height, movement, and texture
✔️ River rock incorporated throughout the beds
✔️ Existing retaining walls integrated into the new design
✔️ Layered plantings that create interest from every angle

The best part? Seeing how beautifully it all fills in. The mix of bright blooms, soft purple flowers, and tall grasses completely changes this corner of the backyard while working with the features that were already there.

Ok, we know it's not yellow, but we're following THIS brick road wherever it takes us. 🧱💛 (Though with these blooms lining the way, we'll allow the color confusion.)

This curved paver walkway is one of our favorite kinds of projects because in it, function meets a little bit of magic. If you've been dreaming about a path like this leading up to your own front door, let's talk!

🚨 This is one of the most common mistakes we see in yards across the Ohio Valley — and it's quietly killing trees.

It's called a "mulch volcano." Wood chips piled 6, 8, even 10 inches deep right against the trunk. It looks full and tidy, but underneath? That trapped moisture is rotting the bark and slowly suffocating the tree's root system.

A thin, even layer — typically 2 to 3 inches — spread away from the trunk is all you need to protect your plants and keep your landscape healthy.

Less is genuinely more here.
