Parking strategy is a bigger design conversation on multi-family projects than it used to be, and it’s not one-size-fits-all.

Underground buys density on a tight site but costs more to build. Tuck-under splits the difference, and detached garages are cheapest per stall but use land you might rather build on.

The right call depends on the site, and the earlier that conversation happens, the better the outcome.

Three apartment communities finished construction in the last year. Twenty08 in Alexandria utilized pre-built panels to build quickly without losing residential feel. 4th Street in Long Prairie went from groundbreaking to move-in in about a year to keep pace with local job growth. Vue North Mn in Rochester moved its parking underground, freeing up the site for amenities instead.

This past Sunday, the Miller team had the opportunity to attend the dedication of Kings Academy in Waite Park, MN, our latest completed project.

This build was truly one of a kind, with plenty of unique details that we’re excited to highlight.

For now, we want to welcome the students as they begin a new school year and wish them a great year ahead!
