🍂 The parts of healing you don’t always see…
Yesterday, as the temperatures dropped and a freeze approached, I spent time in my gardens gathering flowers and tucking them into the greenhouse.
I wanted to preserve their beauty… to give them a little more time, a little more care, and a chance to become something beautiful again in another season.
And somewhere between gathering flowers, tending to roots, and getting my hands dirty, I was reminded how much we need that same kind of care ourselves.
Domestic violence awareness is about more than what happened in the past. Sometimes, the impact shows up years later, in unexpected moments when a feeling or memory brings you back to a version of yourself you thought you’d outgrown.
I’m learning that healing doesn’t mean those moments never happen. It means meeting myself there with grace, kindness, and compassion.
I can be strong and still need softness. I can be happy and still have hard days. I can be growing and still need rest.
And I can choose to feel happy, healthy, safe, and sexy in my own skin… in my gardens, in my greenhouse, and in my own world. 💚
I’m choosing to be better, not bitter. To care for myself as intentionally as I care for my plants and the people in my life.
Because not every season is meant for blooming. Some seasons are for gathering, preserving, resting, releasing, and strengthening our roots.
Wherever you are right now… give yourself a little grace. Put on your own oxygen mask first. You deserve the care you so freely give everyone else.
🍂 Honor the season you’re in. You don’t have to bloom every day.
💚💡💐 KJ… love, light, and all the planty flowers.
When roots are strong… growth follows.
