🥶🔥We are into that time of year when some of you may be using space heaters. Did you know about 25,000 houses caught on fire each year due to using space heater? Here are some tips that can help you to prevent that from happening. 🏡

Keep these tips in mind if you use space heaters in your home!
🚫🔌 Don't plug space heaters into an extension cord or a power strip
🔥 Don't plug any other electrical devices into the same outlet
↔️ Keep the heater at least 3ft away from anything on all sides.

This Holiday season let's light up our homes with joy, not electrical hazards! Check out these helpful safety tips: 🌟

Safety Tips:

🚫 Inspect Lights: Check for frayed wires or damaged sockets on Christmas lights. Replace any worn-out strands.
🔌 Power Responsibly: Avoid overloading electrical outlets. Use extension cords wisely and don't connect too many devices.
🌲 Secure the Tree: If you have a real tree, water it regularly to prevent it from drying out and becoming a fire hazard.
🎁 Mindful Decorations: Place decorations away from heat sources, and avoid blocking exits with large displays.

Light Up Navajo IV – now taking applications
While Light Up Navajo III reaches a close, NTUA has reopened applications for Light Up Navajo IV (4). If you are interested - please stop by any NTUA District Office and ask about the electric connection program called Light Up Navajo.

NTUA Customer Care agents will meet with you to explain how the program works, including what is required, including a homesite lease. All utility projects will require a home-site lease. You may log-on to the Light Up Navajo page on the website (https://www.ntua.com/) and read what other documents will be required.

Homeowners may also submit their name and contact number at https://www.ntua.com/ NTUA will follow-up with you.

If you have already applied for Light Up Navajo, please call 1-800-528-5011 and ask to check up on the status of your application. Or, you may email [email protected].

If you have relatives, friends, or community members who do not have electricity - encourage them to stop by any NTUA District Office and ask about the Light Up Navajo IV program. Thank you!
