If you are an experienced Concrete Finisher who can work all phases of the concrete installation process independently, there is an immediate opening. This position involves the demonstration of experience and proficiencies required from set-up to completion of both residential and commercial concrete projects.

The ideal candidate must take pride in their work, be respectful of coworkers and customers and will be responsible for performing all stages of concrete replacement and installation. Typical projects include but are not limited to: floors, slabs, stoops, sidewalks, steps, patios, driveways, and some curbs for both residential and commercial customers.

Tasks include tear-out, form-setting, pouring, and finishing all types of concrete projects; many decorative such as exposed aggregates, acid staining, stamped and colored surfaces.

Pay is Dependent on Experience, ranges from $22 - $30/hour, Retirement savings (with company match) available

Minimum Qualifications:
• Two years of hands-on experience in all phases of installation on a flatwork crew
• Ability to work well with others on a flatwork crew
• Ability to communicate with customers on project requests when necessary
• Ownership of basic hand-held Finishing tools (e.g.: Edgers, Cutting Tools, Floats and Trowels)

The following are not required but are a definite plus (you will have the opportunity to learn these skills):
• Ability to operate a skid steer
• Experience with decorative projects
• Experience with brick, stone, block and retaining walls
• Experience with snow removal (during concrete off-season)

Notice of 1st Concrete, Inc. Policies during COVID-19

To ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and customers, 1st Concrete, Inc. is committed to monitoring and adjusting to the latest information on the corona-virus as we continue to operate at full capacity. Until the pandemic is no longer a threat, our employee and facility policies are in effect. They are as follows:

Our employees have been provided with and are instructed to use their own writing utensils, load slips and tools. Unless necessary, in which wearing their provided masks is mandatory, employees will drive to job sites separately to avoid sharing small, vehicle space. While on job-sites, employees are to stay 6’ away from each other when possible and minimize direct contact with customers. Please be aware that employees have also been advised to continue the practice of social distancing when they interact with customers. Each employee has been provided with a pandemic kit that in addition to their pen and mask includes hand-sanitizer and general guidelines to mitigate the spread of the virus. Any industrial mask required for a project will be disinfected before use by any other employee.

Only essential employees are currently allowed, with limited access to the restroom, kitchen and shop area, into the 1st Concrete, Inc. facility. These limited areas that remain open to essential employees are disinfected daily along with our truck fleet. Soap, disposable towels, disinfectant and hand-sanitizer are available throughout employee areas.

Our business office remains open, with meetings being attended remotely and document/data being exchanged electronically whenever possible. No unscheduled visits will be made by 1st Concrete, Inc. personnel and no unscheduled visitors are currently permitted into our facility.

It is critical that employees do not report to work while they are experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, chills or shortness of breath. Employees who report to work ill will be sent home to prevent spread to other employees and/or customers.

In areas with ice and snow, avoid using de-icers, especially with new concrete. De-icers contain chemicals that can deteriorate concrete. Shoveling is often the best option, but, if you need to put down something, sand is your safe bet.
